When you need your estate plan to work, it’s already too late. That is not a position you want to find yourself in – as Greg Jimeno knows all too well.

Greg’s grandparents crafted their estate plan with two main concerns: protecting the assets they had spent their lives accumulating, and the high cost of nursing home care. They thought they had a plan that helped them to balance these two competing concerns but, when the time came, Greg watched as they realized that the estate planning tools they had relied upon did not protect them as well as they could have. It is a family’s worst nightmare, especially because by the time they usually realize the problem, their loved one has passed away or is incapacitated and it is too late to make a change.

With this memory in mind, Greg has devoted over twenty years to helping other families avoid the same predicament. He has built his career on helping families protect their assets, support their families, and safeguard their futures – both as a partner with the firm Jimeno & Gray, and then founding Chesapeake Wills and Trusts, which is dedicated exclusively to estate planning and elder law. For his work in estate planning, Greg was selected as a SuperLawyer, and recognized by both Baltimore Magazine and What’s Up Annapolis? magazine as one of Maryland’s best.

Greg has become a sought-after speaker on the topics of estate planning and elder law. As the author of the book “How To Protect Your Home And Life Savings In Maryland,” Greg has shared his experiences in estate planning to help others properly put plans in place to make things easier on their families upon their death or disability.

A lifelong resident of Maryland, Greg is a recognized leader in the legal community. He has served as President of the Anne Arundel County Bar Association; served a two-year term on the Maryland State Bar Association Board of governors; and was appointed by the Governor of the State of Maryland to the Anne Arundel County Judicial Nominating Commission, a position he held for 8 years.

Like any true Marylander, Greg spends his summers at Camden Yards watching the Orioles, occasionally traveling with his wife and daughters to watch the Orioles play on the road, and is a season ticket holder to both the Baltimore Ravens and Maryland Men’s Basketball. Greg’s two daughters have been active in sports as well, and, in his spare time, Greg has coached youth basketball and softball.
